Membership Process
In accordance with the TRNC Law, any real or legal person has to be registered to the CTBCA and receive annually valid class card upon the registration to the Construction Committee to be able to operate as a contractor in our country. It is a criminal offense against the law for a person or an organization to engage in any contracting activities without a Membership Certificate.
Membership Process
The membership process begins by applying to the CTBCA by filling out the application form together with the required documents, provided that the real or legal person meets the conditions stated below.
The evaluation process begins after the application file is submitted to the General Secretariat of the Association.
If any document or information to be submitted during the application is missing, the application will not be evaluated. After the missing documents are completed, the application file is registered and taken into the “membership application evaluation process”.
The application file is forwarded to the lawyer of the Association for a ‘Legal Compliance Opinion’. The lawyer makes the necessary inspections and presents the opinion report to the Board of Directors. The report and the application file are discussed within the Board of Directors, and the applicant is informed after the decision is taken.
When the applications do not meet the criteria, the necessary information and justifications are relayed to the applicant.
After the membership fee (registration fee + first year contribution) is collected from the applicant whose membership has been approved, “Certificate of Membership” is prepared and delivered.
After the completion of the membership process, the member is directed to the Construction Committee in accordance with the TRNC law in order to register and receive their class category.
