Cyprus Turkish Building Contractors Association (CTBCA) announced the start of the Development of Standards and Inspection Project for the Construction Sector.
The CTBCA announced that the implementation phase of the ‘Development and Supervision of Standards for the Construction Sector Project’ has started within the scope of works carried out to improve the sector’s institutional and structural make up and to increase the competitiveness of the sector; one of the main elements of economic and social development in our country.
Speaking at the signing ceremony held in the CTBCA meeting hall on April 10, 2023, the CTBCA President Cafer Gürcafer stated that the recent earthquake disaster and the developments in the world once again demonstrated the importance of improving the construction industry standards in our country.
It was announced that thanks to the project, contractors will be audited and certified as per set industry standards. The project is part of the Association’s development plan for the industry. The aim of the project, which is carried out with the internationally accredited inspection organization, USB Certification, covers the certification of CTBCA members according to the construction quality management system that has been developed.
With the implementation of these standards, construction companies will be enabled to work more institutionally, more effectively and productively, while the “Corporate Competence Certification” to be issued after an audit within the scope of the CTBCA Standard Development Centre “STAGEM”, the product and service quality of the companies will be more visible, the brand of the sector will be improved, as well as ensuring that the members of CTBCA will become more competitive in national and international markets. Within the scope of the project, it was declared that the regional information meetings will begin soon.
