The “Land and Real Estate Development Strategy”, which was carried out by the Turkish Cypriot Contractors’ Association, was prepared and the two-day workshop was completed based on the studies for the preparation of the strategy text. On the first day of the workshop organized by The Management Center, “Country Planning and construction Sector” and on the second day, “Improvement of Investment Environment in the Real Estate Sector and Economic Vision” subjects were examined. City planners, architects, engineers, contractors, real estate agents, lawyers, academics and experts from the public contributed to the workshop. In the next stage, the workshop outputs will be analyzed and reported by The Management Center experts and the strategy text will be produced.

STRATEGY REPORT IS AIMED TO BE THE GOVERNMENT POLICY
After completion of the workshop held under the moderation of The Management Center, workshop outputs will be analyzed and reported and the Land and Real Estate Development Strategy will be prepared for the first time in the country. The association will demand that the produced strategy be a government policy by sharing it with state institutions.
IN THE FIRST PHASE, DATA WAS COLLECTED
Within the scope of ongoing studies, which lasted more than four months, the first stage was the “Primary and Secondary Resource Scanning”, “Structured Interviews” and “Focus Group Meetings”.
THE SECOND STAGE; “STRATEGY BUILDING WORKSHOP”
The second phase of the strategy preparation is the “Strategy Building Workshop” held on 20 April 2017 and 24 April 2017.
In the third stage, the workshop outputs will be analyzed and reported by The Management Center experts and the strategy text will be produced.
EXPERTS JOINED
City planners, architects, engineers, contractors, real estate agents, lawyers, academics and experts from the public contributed to the workshop on “Country Planning and construction Sector” held on April 20, 2017, Thursday and on “Improving the Investment Environment in the Real Estate Sector and Economic Vision” held on April 24, 2017, Monday.
EXAMPLES OF DİFFERENT COUNTRİES AND EU LEGİSLATİON WAS EXAMİNED
The first day of the workshop started with the presentation of Management Center Project Coordinator IzgeArısal. Describing strategy preparation and workshop methodology, Arısal provided information on the planning systems of the TRNC, Southern Cyprus, Malta and Ireland and EU legislation.
Participants proposed a solution proposals in the workshop, in which the problems of National Planning and construction were discussed in detail.
Finally, the suggestions put forward in the workshop were voted by the participants according to their importance.
THE ECONOMİC DİMENSİON OF THE SECTOR WAS ADDRESSED
On the second day of the workshop, the relationship between the tourism and higher education sectors and the real estate sector, funding facilities applied to real estate investments, incentives and tax facilities, real estate sales to the foreign people, deed system, real estate purchase stages and basic legal acts were discussed.
The workshop, in which the participants presented the solution proposals, ended with the vote of the proposals according to their importance.
