The problem of unskilled workers, far from the qualities demanded by the companies; the problem is being resolved with a joint project of the Cyprus Turkish Building Contractors Association (CTBCA), the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry (CTCI), the Cyprus Turkish Building Subcontractors Association, and the Restaurateurs Association (Res-Bir).<\/p>\n
In line with this project, whether the required workforce has the expected qualifications or not will be tested in the country where the workers will be brought from, and if they are suitable, they will be certified by the certification centres and then brought to our country.<\/p>\n
Cafer G\u00fcrcafer, President of the Cyprus Turkish Building Contractors Association (CTBCA), said that for some time, the workers whom have been intended to be brought from the 3rd World countries, have not been workers with the skills and qualifications demanded by the companies, but instead have been unskilled workers that are far from the qualities requested or were promised.<\/p>\n
Cafer G\u00fcrcafer, explained that, apart from that issue, the workers in question who arrive in our country by using these firms are crossing or attempting to cross to the South in droves without the knowledge of the firms which they are supposed to be employed with, \u00a0and he went on to add that this situation is not only causing a loss in employment but is also resulting in the emergence of a global public perception that the TRNC has become a centre for people smuggling, and by extension is creating difficulties internationally for our country as well as Turkey.<\/p>\n
For this reason, and in order to evaluate that the applications made do meet the qualified workforce needed so that qualified personnel will be supplied, as well as to prevent any human trafficking, the Cyprus Turkish Building Contractors Association (CTBCA), the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry (CTCI), the Cyprus Turkish Building Subcontractors Association and the Restaurateurs Association (Res-Bir) announced that it has implemented a new project in consultation with the State.<\/p>\n
