Gürcafer: Turkish people must keep their eyes peeled for projects related to the TRNC that are being marketed in Türkiye!

Cafer Gürcafer, President of the Turkish Cypriot Building Contractors Association (CTBCA), said that interest within Türkiye about projects in the TRNC is being misappropriated, and that some are trying to sell pipe dreams to the Turkish people based on these projects.

Gürcafer issued a call, warning that people should refer their case to the Turkish Cypriot Building Contractors Association (CTBCA) or the TRNC authorities and obtain information about the authenticity of the project before making any down payment for a project in the TRNC.

CTBCA President Cafer Gürcafer’s statement included the following points:

“Some people in Türkiye are misappropriating the interest in projects in the TRNC and trying to sell pipe dreams to the Turkish people based on the projects here. Turkish people should keep their eyes peeled for projects related to TRNC that are being marketed in Türkiye! Through our investigation; we have established that the projects in question have not received approval from any planning authority or even have attempted to obtain approval at all. Consequently; we strongly recommend that you enquire with the Turkish Cypriot Building Contractors Association (CTBCA) or the TRNC authorities to obtain information about the authenticity of the project prior to putting any down payment for a project in the TRNC that is being marketed through social media and in Türkiye.”
