Cafer Gürcafer, President of the Cyprus Turkish Building Contractors Association (CTBCA), noted that the fact that the foreign policy we pursue as the TRNC has gone beyond the UN parameters has made the Greek side’s task much easier.
Gürcafer said, “The real aim of Hristodulidis is not to sit down at the negotiation table that may be formed, but to harm the social existence of the Turkish Cypriot community, to force the Turkish Cypriots to immigrate a little more, to liquidate them a little more,” and expressed the following:
“The sharp turn taken in politics aimed at finding a solution to the Cyprus problem is making it difficult for us to find any international support. This is a fact. Nevertheless, we are well aware that the recent actions taken by the Greek Cypriot Administration, which are packaged as ‘protecting property rights’ are the most recent iteration of a strategic plan that had been developed since the early 1950s; to harm the social existence of the Turkish Cypriots. Hristodulidis’ real aim is not to sit down at the negotiation table that may be formed, but to harm the social existence of the Turkish Cypriot community, to force the Turkish Cypriots to immigrate a little more, to liquidate them a little more.
It is Mr. Hristodulidis who blew up the Crans-Montana process.
One of the most important opportunities for a solution of the Cyprus problem seized to date is the Annan Plan, and another is Crans-Montana. We all know very well that it was Mr. Hristodulidis who blew up the Crans-Montana process. The whole world knows this. One of those who knew best and the most important witness was the President at the time, Mr. Akıncı. In this regard, Hristodulidis supporters in the north who do not agree with this notion may consult with Mr. Akıncı.”
